Tales of the Shire is an upcoming simulation game that will be hitting your consoles and PCs on July 29th, 2025. This game is developed by Wētā Workshop and published by Private Division. Tales of the Shire is a life simulation game that lets players live as a character in the game's universe.
Based on the legendarium created by J. R. R. Tolkien, the game takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S in July 2025.

Tales of the Shire is a cozy life simulation game. The events of the game unfold in a peaceful region in Middle-earth known as the Shire. The game focuses on the daily lives of fantasy characters, known as Hobbits, in the village of Bywater. As stated by J. R. R. Tolkien:
I'm going to leave areas that are only sketched in, like blank spaces on the map, and I want other minds and hands wielding art and paint and drama to come in and take over the story
The game revolves around the Hobbit created by the player and allows players to perform various daily life activities, such as preparing food, eating, gathering in meetings, and attending parties. Players also need to socialize by interacting with the other characters around them.
The game offers a third-person view revolving around the hobbit that the player controls. The game also has a unique rendering style that takes gamers back to the nostalgic memories of the old animations. Moreover, the hobbits need to establish good relations with the community and other characters in the Shire. They also need to first grow their food in the form of crops and then eat it.
The players can also customize their hobbit holes - "the underground houses in which the hobbit lives. Moreover, when the player places a waypoint in the game, a bird appears to guide the player to the new objective. Players can also earn money and explore Bywater.
