Tales of the Shire - Cozy Hobbit Life Simulation Game
Tales of the Shire is a simulation game that will be released on July 29th, 2025 and here on your consoles and PC. This is a game by Wētā Workshop, and published by Private Division. Tales of the Shire is a life simulator in which you can live as a game character.
Set in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, the game is set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The game is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in July 2025.

Tales of the Shire is a gentle life sim. The game takes place in a peaceful area of Middle-earth named the Shire. The game is centered around some fantasy characters called Hobbits in the Bywater village. According to J.R.R. Tolkien:
I’m going to include everything just sketched in here, leaving like a blank space on the map, and then I want other minds and different hands with art and paint and drama to come in here and take over this story.”
The game centres on the player-created Hobbit, with players able to engage in activities all based off daily life activities including cooking food, eating & participating in meetings and parties. Players have to socialize, too; they must communicate with the other characters in their environment.
The hobbit the player plays as is on screen in third person perspective. And the game also features its own unique style of drawing so it will bring Android’s fans to down nostalgia with the animations of yesteryears. The hobbits must get on with the community and other Shire-folk, too. They also have to produce their food, in the case of crops, and eat it first.
The players are also able to customize their own hobbit holes – "the underground houses in which the hobbit lives. Also, in case the player sets a waypoint within the game, a bird shows up to direct the player to the new objective. Players also have the opportunity to make money and roam around Bywater.
