Title: PRAGMATA

Publishers: Capcom co., Ltd
Release Date: 23rd April, 2026
Genre: Action, Adventure
New Game with Different Vibes
PRAGMATA is a third-person sci-fi action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom. Unlike Capcom's usual horror and fast paced games, this one dives towards emotions, slow storytelling and atmosphere.
It is built using RE Engine, the one used for Resident Evil Village, so you can expect great visuals, lighting and detailed environments from this game. The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & S and PC.
A Lonely Environment:
The Game is set in a futuristic environment, on a cold lunar station. The world feels lonely, fully of large structures, and technologies that are left behind. The game gives a strong sense of isolation. Unlike other games, the game has no crowds. No busy cities. Just silence is spread everywhere. The setting of the game plays a crucial role in the game's tone and emotional weight.
The Two Main Characters
PRAGMATA features two main characters, they work out together through out the gameplay and shape story. They are:
The Portagonist Astronaut
He is the main playable character that appears as an astronaut and space operative. He is equipped with technologically advanced gears to survive harsh environments and fight enemies. He represents the combat-focused side of gameplay.
The Mysterious Girl
With him, there is a mysterious girl. She has unimaginable abilities that encompass hacking systems, disable enemy defenses and manipulate technology. She is dependent on the astronaut, and can be seen frequently riding on the back on the astronaut. Though it is not confirmed that she is human, AI robot or something else.
Strategy, Action Dependent Gameplay
PRAGMATA isn't just a shooter. Combat seems to be more strategic requiring the coordination between both characters. The game has great third-person shooting, defence, hacking mechanics.
Instead of full-on gun action, it is based more on strategy. Players must analyze enemy defenses, hack their systems and wait for the perfect time to attack.
Sci-fi Story and Theme
While the story is still wrapped tightly, trailers suggest that PRAGMATA explores deep Sci-fi themes, where Humanity is trying to survice in a strange world to which they have emotional bonds. Technology and Humanity collide with one another. We try to beat Artificial Intelligence. The game heavily relies on Environmental storytelling, where the environment itself tells it's own story.
The story is designed to be atmospheric, emotional and full of isolation.
Community Reactions:
Since it's reveal, it has sparked alot of excitement, curiousity and frustrating among fans. While most of the fans are happy with the unique atmosphere and story others are catious due to the lack of solid details an repetive delays. Many Praise the game for it's quiet, lonely atmosphere, originality and sci-fi aesthetic. Howevers some are concerned about development delays. Due to the long gaps between trailers and development troubles. Optimizations seems to be a concern of a few as well. Here are the reactions of a few fans:
"I have been looking for this game for years l remember when it was first announced and all l could remember was a little girl and a robot and my searches always came up empty."
"I wanted this game to come to Switch 2 back in it's original debut trailer, but I thought it might be too demanding for Switch 2 to handle.
The small girl's hair physics alone seem like it would be difficult to render on Switch 2 lol, so I was both surprised and happy to see the Switch 2 logo pop up at the end of this trailer."
"This is reminding of the original Lost Planet game, in that it feels ahead of its time and a such a unique experience that nothing has yet to come out that feels or plays like it did."
"After playing the demo I gotta say I'm excited for this game. It was quite fun, and I hope it lives up to expectations on full release!"
Pros:
The game has many postive points. This includes the game being a fresh sci-fi game, which already makes it stand out in the market. It features a strong atmosphere and great world design. The lonely, futuristic environments create a unique mood. The game also relies on two characters and they work together tactically to combat. This makes the game feel more strategic. PRAGMATA is built on RE Engine, the same one used for Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cty 5 which gives great lighting and detailed environments to the game. The game shows depth in themes like AI, isolation and humanity vs technology.
Cons:
Just like any coin, the game also has two sides, one is good and one is bad. Even though game seems to be great, it still has some negative points like the game has been in long development and with multiple delays, this weakend hype and raised concers. Studio has released a limited amount of information about the game, new information needs to be thrown for the longivity of the hype the game has been getting. The tactical approach to the game might feel to slow to some players who prefer fast-paced games. The niche of the game shows a quiet tone, which might not be appealing to some of it's audience.
