Story and Setting

Story and Setting

The game is set in an alternate world in the year 2082. This alternate world had undergone a coronal mass ejection that triggered a series of geological disasters, fundamentally altering the Earth. This phenomenon is called the Great Catastrophe. A mineral that could serve as an energy-dense resource for planet Earth emerged from the ground of the Earth as a result of this Great Catastrophe.

This mineral, discovered after the "Great Catastrophe", was a carbon-silicon mineral known as "corite" or "Eruptive Inorganic Carbide (EIC)". Its advantages included fulfilling energy requirements for the world and aiding it in recovering from the Great Catastrophe. Along with this blessing, Corite also came with a nuisance of pollution that made the area of the deposit of its wastes inhabitable.

The availability of corite made the place polluted and inhabitable. These polluted areas were given the name "Fading Zones". As the world leapt over to the use of corite, these Fading Zones started to spread across the globe rapidly. The contamination in these fading zones made it impossible for humans to enter them. So, Mechs were used to perform different operations in these Fading Zones.

A mysterious organization known as S.H.A.D.O.W. offers a path to salvation for the preservation of Earth and saving humanity from extinction. This organization is the protagonist of the game and owns many high-tech Mechs that can be used in different operations in the fading zones.

Years ago, the world as we knew it ended. A coronal mass ejection triggered a chain of geological disasters, the scale of which Humanity had never seen. Scarring the face of our planet beyond recognition. Scraps of human existence remained, now inhabiting a hostile, unfamiliar world. Standing on the precipice of annihilation, we are left with one mission: "Survival". After the catastrophe, we began to rebuild society in the face of harsh and unpredictable weather, disease, and a rising new threat: "corite pollution". Resources are scarce, Warfare has become commonplace, and it seems every last faction of humanity harbors ulterior motives for corite. Power, control, and religious fanaticism; to some, corite is salvation, to others, the harbinger of the end, but all motives and outcomes aside, one message is clear: the threat posed by corite demands our attention. The time has come to rise with the storm or be swept beneath its Fury.
