Herdling: A Gentle Journey Through Wilderness and Wonder
Herdling is an adventure-based third person game developed by Okomotive and published by Panic. Game is set to be released on August 21st, 2025. As with everything else today, the compilation will be released on PC (Steam + Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch / Switch 2.

The player takes on the role of a young shepherd, Via. Throughout the gameplay, Via's primary role is to lead a herd of fantastical fluffy creatures called Calicorns through alpine terrains. The story is told without dialogue — only with visual storytelling, environmental design and emotional interaction. Trust, survival, friendship and a voyage to the heart of a fallen world play out.

Herd Guidance: The gamers will need to travel through several terrains beginning from foggy forests and ending at snowy fields. And on this journey, these would not be the only treacherous passes the players to pass (side missions in essence for you to navigate with the Calicorns). The Calicorns will be encouraged with soft suggestions, not orders.
Stampede Mechanics: the and I can implement these little powerups where you can sprint a single accessor bust to run through landscapes, etc with powers up by running over batch of flowers.
Environmental Interaction: The herd can help the players to perform numerous activities that would be hard for Via alone, eg: pushing boulders. While there is this assistance, however, the herd can also be problematic, as careful maneuvering is sometimes necessary in tight or dangerous spaces.
Bonding Moments: With the ability to pet, feed, clear and name, decorate these Calicorns. These acts help in strengthening the emotional bonding with them.
Early Demo Impressions: The Steam demo opens in a city, as Via finds and saves one Calicorn who heads off to the mountain with her. Both the excitement of stampedes and hazards to come, from injuries to environmental dangers, are on display in the demo.

Herdling was born from a small and committed team of around 12 developers, and the game has been designed to carry this handcrafted quality that evokes emotions, through it's every area. Okomotive made it clear that guiding the herd was organically alive in spirit—not an escort mission, but warm and flowing and evanescing.

The game’s visuals have a painterly, moody beauty to them, and also feature the expressive and adorable Calicorn designs. Reviewers called it “a quiet, heartfelt journey,” feeling like one big hug — the kind of experience players looking for low-key, meaningful escapades desperately need.
