God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Kratos as the God of War
Kratos was tortured by his human past and sought answers about his lineage, especially for his brother (Deimos). The Oracle prophesied an end of Olympus through a "marked warrior". Zeus & Ares fearing the prophecy mistaked Deimos'sa birthmarks and abducted him. In an effort to do so, Kratos intervened, but Ares marked him with a vision of giving Kronos food and water when asked for them. When Ares was about to eliminate Kratos, he was stopped by Athena who told him they only required the marked warrior. Deimos was captured and tortured by Thanatos (the God of Death). We also find out that many years later, after we killed Ares, Kratos was crowned the new God of War. But visions of his shortlived childhood still haunted him and he wanted to know what had happened to them. God of War II
Escalation with Olympus
Kratos was among the Gods of Olympus. but he was not liked by them because of for his brutality. He also had the same rage against them as he considered them responsible for his suffering and also not helping him get rid of his haunting illusions. Athena asks him to stop as the gods are getting more and more angry with his actions, but he didn't listen. During the battle of Rhodes, Kratos assisted his Spartan army as a giant god. Zeus disguised as eagle drained his power into the Colossus of Rhodes and brought it to life to kill Kratos. Zeus also gave Kratos the Blade of Olympus which was a powerful sword once used to stop a war between god of Olympus and the titans. Zeus told Kratos that he had to infuse his godly powers into the blade for him to kill the colossus with it. He did transfer all his powers into the sword and became mortal but powerful enough to destroy Colossus. Kratos was badly wounded during the fight and returned back to his sword to get back the powers, but the blade was taken away by the same eagle (Zeus). Zeus betrayed Kratos as he though he is a threat to Olympus and already killed one of the gods (Ares). So, he killed Zeus using the blade of Olympus and also wipeout the whole spartan army.
In the underworld, Kratos was saved by Gaia, goddess of the earth. Gaia told Kratos that to change his past, regain his powers and the status as god of war, he had to find Sisters of fate and then deal with Zeus betrayal and slay the kind of Olympus. Kratos reached the island of creation on his quest to find sisters of fate. Kratos asked Gaia why she helped Kratos on his revenge against Zeus. Gaia explained him how he was saved from Kronos (Zeus father) who ate all his children because he was afraid of a prophesy that one of his children would rise up against him. Zeus mother saved him and sent him to an island called Gaia (herself). Kratos battled against many mythical figures like Theseus, Perseus and more and finally encountered Titan Atlas who allied with Kratos because they had a shared enemy (Zeus), because he humiliated them (titans) during the great war. After that Kratos reached sisters of fate and asked them to change his fate but they denied his request. so, he did what he always does, fought them and defeated them. This granted him control over his destiny. Kratos got his powers back and his status as god of war before traveling back to his death at the hands of Zeus. Zeus was not ready for this time travel and caught off-guard. They both fought a long battle, but Kratos managed to overtake him and started stabbing Zeus the same way as he was stabbed using the Blade of Olympus. Before, Kratos could kill Zeus, Athena intervened and stopped him from doing so. Zeus told him that the sisters of fate had already predicted his victory and that Kratos will fail in his mission. Hearing this Kratos got angrier and more attacked Zeus but Athena came in his way and was stabbed by his blade, seeing this Zeus flew away from the scene. As she was dying Kratos asked Athena, why she sacrificed herself for Zeus. She said his actions were caused by fear same as his father Kronos killing all of his children. So Kratos found out that he was the son of Zeus. Kratos told her that no one will stop him from taking his revenge on Zeus. Kratos Traveled back to the times of Great War, bringing back Gaia and Titans to the present to assault Olympus.

On his climb to the top, he met Gaia a second time and she requested his aid, but he wound up cutting her hand and she dropped. Kratos went to the labyrinth and found her. They retraced their steps to the room of flames. The only hope to put out the flames of Olympus was for Pandoras to offer her body as the sacrifice. She begged of him the power of hope so that she could rebuild a world not as it was. Athena, however, asked Kratos to return the power of hope to her and he instead stabbed himself with his Blade of Olympus, giving hope back to mankind. Let down, Athena abandoned him to his death. But there was a blood trail, and that left hope that perhaps he had been shot but was still alive.

Atreus collapsed in the middle of the battle and Mimir instructed Kratos to take him back to Freya. So, despite all his suspicions of gods, he prayed to the goddess still. That Atreus' real fight lies within himself, Freya said to him. There was a heart of a troll she was after, in Helheim. He made his way to the heart and Atreus was healed and they continued traveling through all nine realms.
Kratos informed him that he was a god from another land later on the trip. But he chose to live as a mortal when he moved to Midgard, So Atreus was a god too. God of War Ragnarök
The Prophecy Unfolds
It was three years and the Fimbulwinter had almost came to an end, which meant Ragnarök (End of the World) would be coming soon. Father and the son were returning from a hunting when they were assaulted by Freya who still have not forgiven them for the death of her child. They just managed to flee and go home only to learn that Fenrir, Atreus' wolf was dying. Atreus was still in process of learning who he really is, and beginning to change forms.
They were once interrupted by Thor who came one night. Kratos faced off against Thor due to the latter's killing of his sons. Odin came as well, proposing a truce if Kratos and Atreus stay out of their affairs in particular his search for Tyr. Kratos refused the offer. And then there is an epic Thor vs Kratos battle. Thor killed and resurrected Kratos a few times, just to abandon him when Kratos finally revealed some god-power. Kratos reluctantly agreed to help Atreus locate Tyr, the Norse God of War, and gain an understanding of his and Alec...MORE'S as Loki's purpose. and later save Tyr from the realm of Svartalfheim. The shrine of Groa stated only Asgard will be torn in Ragnarok, not all nine realms and Loki a savior figure (not villain) who with his allies played part to save Asgard at time. However, Kratos was not settled as he did not want his son to be a war hero like him. Atreus's visited Jötunheim in secret and encountered a young enough giantess named Angrboda. She explained the prophecies that Kratos would die in Ragnarök.
Kratos and Atreus formed an alliance with Freya to aid her in combatting Odin’s curse so that she could move between the realms. She also allied herself with them in their conflict with Odin and Freyr (her brother). Atreus meanwhile ran away to Midgard, staying behind in order to spy on Odin and figure out how to prevent the death of his father during Ragnarök. There, he also assisted Odin in his pursuit of masks from a previous era that contained endless amounts of knowledge. Heimdall (Aesir monitor and god of prescience) planned to kill Atreus, Kratos discovered. Kratos claimed Draupnir Spear from Brock, killed Heimdall, and plundered Gjallarhorn. Atreus also freed the giant wolf Garm in Helheim by mistake. He later used Fenrir's soul to make Garm obedient. Atreus and the gang embark on one final mask quest, which is then completed. "Tyr" also volunteered to sacrifice cover and using mask, lead attack but Brok got suspicious, that why Tyr didn't tell they had a way inside Asgard before then; why did ( Loki like) Atreus call himself by the name of an Asgardian? Tyr drive a well-place knife into Brock and was like, all along I was Odin looking down on you! He later broke out and declared war against Kratos and his company.
He then brought the Gjallarhorn to united coalition of 8 realms against Asgard. With that, Kratos engaged Thor in combat and he managed to beat him, but spared him since their children were friends and were an example for the younger individuals as well. Odin commanded Thor to execute Kratos, but when he refused, Odin killed him due to insubordination. Kratos, Atreus and Freya battled Odin together and they were triumphant over the leader of Aesir. Atreus confines Odin's soul to an ethereal stone while Sindri smashes it in revenge for Brock. Eventually Ragnarök arrived and Asgard was laid to waste. Freyr gave up his life so others could flee the damned world. Ragnarök was done and Asgard was in ruins. Survivors of the cursed land reunited and Angrboda informed that Faye changed prophetic murals for destiny. Atreus then embarked on a solitary mission to uncover Giants. Kratos' fate was altered to reveal a final mural of how he was worshiped as a peaceful god.
