Developed by a small and independent German Studio, Crunchy Leaf Games, The Galactic Glitch is a Roguelike space shooter game. The games most unique character is its physics based combat which allows the players to do many maneuvers with our spaceship. The players can engage with the enemies in many unusual and surprising ways by bouncing them off the elastic walls, throwing rocks at them and even catching the incoming missiles without getting any damage and even more surprisingly throwing them back at them. Adding to this unreal experience players can obliterate their enemies into small pieces and use them as ammo against them!

Storyline

The Galactic Glitch does not posses any long narrative in which the player goes through many challenges and different phases of its life that shape him differently as he/she advances through the game, instead this game has a very simple back story in which the players are controlling an advanced spaceship developed by a mysterious creature that guides and also misguides the player in the adventure. So the player fights to get freedom from this creature and for the survival of the entire universe.

Gameplay and Mechanics

Galactic Glitch is a 2D game that follows a third person view from the top where the player is wandering in the space and visits different arenas having bouncy walls along the adventure. The player fights with different enemies in the arenas who progressively get tougher to beat as the game advances. Some noticeable features are:

Physics Based Combat:
One of the most eye-catching feature of this game is its physics in combats where the player's spaceship is equipped with a gravity gun that can be used to direct the asteroids into the enemies and even the enemies can also be used as a weapon by crashing them into one another using the gravity gun. Moreover, the bouncy walls of the arena can also be used as an advantage. These combat skills make the whole environment a weapon for the player.
Challenging Enemies
The thing that makes the players more ingulfed in the game is the battles. Keeping this in view, the Crunchy Leaf Games decided to make the game a little bit challenging and introduced 60 different unique types of enemies across seven levels, each of which require different tactics to be defeated. This adds a sense of desire to defeat the enemies and take on the next challenge in the gamers' minds keeping them indulged in the game.
Diverse Arsenal:
The game includes over 20 different types of weapons and 50 different upgradable powers. This vastness and diverseness of weapons and powerups allows different kinds of maneuvers and battling styles. These options offer the players, the ability to strategize their builds varyingly.
Replayability:
The roguelike structure of the Galactic Glitch ensures that the players experience different challenges and opportunities for discovery in each run. This will prevent the players from getting bored by playing and defeating same challenges again and again.
